Real Estate Associate

Department: Transactional
Location: Charleston , SC

Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd, P.A. With more than 120 attorneys, we encompass a broad spectrum of transactional and litigation practice areas for large corporations, small businesses, and governmental entities. We currently have an opening in the Charleston, South Carolina office for a Real Estate Associate.

This position is ideal for candidates with at least two years of experience in real estate and general transactional work. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of transactional processes, be detail-oriented, and possess excellent organizational and time management skills.

Success in this role requires the ability to adapt quickly, manage multiple tasks efficiently, and work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving are also essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating real estate contracts, leases, and other legal documents.
  • Support senior attorneys in due diligence processes, including title reviews, zoning compliance, and contract management.
  • Conduct research on legal issues related to real estate transactions, land use, and property law.
  • Attend and assist in client meetings and negotiations, providing insights based on legal research and analysis.
  • Draft and prepare documents for closings, including real estate sale agreements, financing documents, and closing checklists.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and external parties to ensure smooth real estate transactions.
  • Assist with compliance and regulatory matters, including zoning and land use regulations.
